Cookie policy
This page describes the cookies and similar storage reelradarpurepixls.rest uses, how long they last, and how you can refuse or delete them in your browser.
What we mean by cookies
Cookies are small text files a site can store on your device. We also use localStorage, which is a similar browser storage mechanism, to remember your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. For this policy, “cookies” includes those cookies and that localStorage item. The banner on each page lets you accept all optional cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or open preferences. Your choice is saved under the localStorage key cookie-choice.
Essential storage is used because the site has to remember that choice. Analytics and functional cookies stay off until you opt in. We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies. Clearing your browsing data for this site will reset the banner, which is the correct behaviour, not a fault.
How to change your mind on this site
Open any page and, if the banner is hidden, clear site data for reelradarpurepixls.rest or delete the localStorage key cookie-choice, then reload. The banner will return. Use “Reject Non-Essential” to keep only essential storage, “Accept All” to allow analytics and functional cookies, or “Preferences” to choose those two categories separately. The privacy policy explains how any resulting data is handled. The terms of service cover use of the site generally.
Cookie table
The table lists cookies we may set. Names are first-party on reelradarpurepixls.rest unless stated. Durations are maximums; a session cookie disappears when you close the browser.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-choice (localStorage) | Essential | Stores whether you accepted, rejected or customised optional cookies so the banner can stay hidden. | Until you clear site data |
| rr_pref | Essential | Mirrors the same choice in a first-party cookie so the preference can be read if localStorage is blocked but cookies are not. | 12 months |
| rr_metrics | Analytics | Records aggregate page views of guides (for example which topic pages are opened) without building an advertising profile. Set only after analytics consent. | 6 months |
| rr_ui | Functional | Remembers interface choices such as a dismissed preferences panel state. Set only after functional consent. | 6 months |
Essential items cannot be switched off from the banner because the site would not know you had already answered. You can still delete them in the browser; the banner will then show again. Analytics and functional cookies are never required to read the guides.
What each category means
Essential. Strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for: showing pages and storing a cookie choice. These are not used to measure marketing campaigns.
Analytics. Help us understand which guides are used so we can keep the useful ones and repair the neglected ones. They are first-party and are not sold. If you reject them, we still publish the same articles; we simply learn less about traffic patterns.
Functional. Remember non-essential interface choices. The site remains readable without them. We do not use functional cookies to sync a login, because there is no login.
Browser controls and opt-out instructions
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. The steps move occasionally; the vendor pages below are the current instruction sets. Use them if you want a control that sits above our banner, or if you want to delete cookies for many sites at once.
- Google Chrome: Clear, enable and manage cookies in Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox: Clear cookies and site data in Firefox
- Apple Safari: Manage cookies and website data in Safari
- Microsoft Edge: Delete cookies in Microsoft Edge
You can also use the browser’s site settings for reelradarpurepixls.rest to delete this domain only, which is cleaner if you want to keep cookies on other sites. Blocking all cookies may hide the banner’s memory; you may see it more often. That is the trade-off, not a tracking trick.
If you use a private browsing window, storage may vanish when the window closes. Do-not-track signals are inconsistent across browsers; we honour the explicit choice in our banner and the storage we listed, rather than guessing at a header. Industry opt-out pages aimed at advertising networks are not relevant here because we do not run those networks on this site.
Third parties
Pages that include images from picsum.photos will cause your browser to request those files from that host. That host may set its own cookies according to its policies. Those requests are for media, not for our analytics. You can block third-party content in the browser if you prefer; the text remains available. We do not load third-party tags for advertising, social sharing buttons that fire pixels, or heat-mapping scripts.
